Kyrgyz-Tajik border: The Tajik side uses mortars and grenade launcher

Today, on January 27, from 17:00 to 18:30 Tajik border guards blocked the Tort-Kocho section of the Batken-Isfana road in Batken district. At 19:30 the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border became tense. The Border Service of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The head of the Batken regional department of the Border Service Kiyalbek Tolonbaev and the commander of the Batken border detachment Rustam Mirshakirov visited the region.

At about 19:35, the Tajik side opened fire from the Uch-Dobo area of Batken region, and the situation escalated. Kyrgyz and Tajik border guards opened fire in Tort-Kocho and Uch-Dobo districts, and the Tajik side reportedly used mortars and grenades.
