Kyrgyzstan’s Prosecutor-General’s Office says the Tajik move is a military aggression. A statement from the agency said Tajik troops and gangs had used assault rifles, mortars, military helicopters, heavy armored vehicles, artillery and other weapons against civilians in Batken province.

In addition, the Tajik military violated the Good Neighborliness and Partnership Agreement signed on May 26, 2004, the principles of peace, friendship and neighborliness between the two countries.

«36 Kyrgyz citizens, including 3 servicemen and 2 infants, were killed and more than 180 people were injured by Tajik troops and armed forces,» he said. Most of them are in critical condition and more than 33,000 people have been evacuated from the conflict zone, ”the statement said.

In the villages of Kyrgyzstan bordering with Tajikistan, a large number of automatic weapons, large-caliber cartridge cases, explosives and mines, unexploded ordnance, aircraft missiles, trenches, fences and other military structures dug by the Tajik armed forces were found.

The Kyrgyz military used firearms only for defense, civilian protection and territorial integrity. There have been no attacks by Kyrgyz military forces or citizens on settlements and other facilities in Tajikistan.

On April 29, 2021, the Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case on the above facts, seized evidence and video recordings, and made photo and video recordings.
